Dear Canon-McMillan Parents/Guardians and Staff,
Welcome Back! Canon-McMillan School District felt it was important to send a few reminders about our return to school plan. The phased return to in-person instruction will begin Tuesday, January 5, 2021. For more details about this please click here. If you have any additional questions regarding this plan please contact your building principal.
As an additional reminder, anyone experiencing the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend in person instruction. If you fail the daily screener you should notify the school nurse of the child’s building. For your convenience and information, the Canon-McMillan School District Screening Tool can be accessed on our website, cmsd.k12.pa.us in the Coronavirus Update Center. It provides detail on signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Our success depends on our ability to keep ill or potentially exposed individuals out of the school setting.
Also the Canon-McMillan Dashboard is on our website to keep you informed of active cases within the district. The dashboard reflects students and staff that were physically present in a school facility when they were infectious. The active positive cases within a 14 day period are used to determine when an entire school will close and the length of closure based on the level of community transmission. In an effort to be completely transparent the school district believes it is important to also communicate these cases with the community. They include staff who tested positive, but were not physically present in a district facility while infectious, staff that are in quarantined as the result of exposure, and staff in quarantine as the result of travel.
Please visit the PA Department of Health website (www.health.pa.gov) for the latest and most accurate information about COVID-19. The health and safety of our students and staff is paramount, and we continue to follow all aspects of the District’s health and safety plan at all times.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through this pandemic. We will get through this together. Thank you.
