Over $100k Raised at Tunnels to Towers 5K Held at the CM Stadium on Saturday, September 17th. This was a 5k run walk to raise money, support and awareness for the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. This is a foundation born out of 9-11 and raises money to pay off mortgages for first responders and their families. They have multiple programs that pay off homes for first responders who died in the line of duty and they also build smart homes for military vets injured in the line of duty. Their website, t2t.org can provide more details.
This was the second annual event held in Pittsburgh but the first time Canonsburg hosted the event. This will be an annual event in Canonsburg from now on. Mr. Vince Faith, Canonsburg Middle School teacher and co-organizer of this event, says they were able to raise over $100k in support based on sponsorship, donations and registration for the event! There were almost 500 registered walkers and runners.
