William O'Bryan Wins First Place in VFW Patriot's Pen Essay Contest


The Patriot’s Pen scholarship competition helps foster patriotism by challenging middle school students to examine our nation’s history, its democratic processes, and the students' role in America’s future based on this year’s theme of “What Makes America Great”.   

Congratulations to William for being named as the 1st place winner for the Department of Pennsylvania for the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest, His essay was selected from among all the District winners and will move onto the next round of judging at the National Patriot’s Pen Competition.  As the first-place winner, he will be invited to join our District Voice of Democracy winners in January for a weekend trip and awards banquet.
