Canon-Mac Boys Soccer Team Advances to Semi-Finals

2019 boys soccer win

In what would be the last home game of their careers for 13 CM senior soccer players, things for the team went from good to bad to great in just over 90 minutes of play.

After 37 minutes of chances for both teams, CM scored first. Owen Maher finished a great corner kick from Luke Gladden for the goal. In the second half while Canon Mac was maintaining a 1 goal lead, a miscommunication resulted in Tommy Samosky scoring an own goal for the Foxes, tying the game. The score remained unchanged at the end of regulation. During the first overtime period, both teams had opportunities. When CM earned a corner kick, Luke Gladden sent a perfect ball into the box. Samosky got a head on it and sent it into the crossbar and down into the goal for the win.
