Dear Big Mac Community,

It is with immense pride and excitement that I am writing to you as the newly appointed principal of Canon-McMillan High School. I have been a dedicated employee at Canon-McMillan High School for the past 5 years. During my time at Canon-McMillan, I have had the privilege of holding the positions of Assistant Principal, School Counselor, Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, Varsity Track & Field Assistant Coach, Head Middle School Volleyball Coach and sponsored multiple clubs.

My journey to the field of education is unique. My undergraduate degree is in Pre-Law and my first Master’s degree is in Homeland Security. However, I knew in my heart that my goal was to be in a leadership role in education. Therefore, I pursued a Master’s in School Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania and a Principal certification from Point Park University.

As I am a product of the Canon-McMillan School District, my investment and tenure in the community runs deep. I have been affiliated with the district for 18 years. I am a proud 2008 graduate, I was the 2008 homecoming queen, I’ve walked the same hallways, I’ve learned in the same classrooms, I’ve performed on the same stages and I’ve cheered in the same bleachers. Throughout the years, I have had the pleasure of facilitating student-led initiatives, coaching athletes to break my records, and creating opportunities for our students. I will tenaciously continue to be committed to the students, staff, faculty and community.

I would like to thank the Board of School Directors and our Central Office team for the opportunity to continue to build upon our success as a district. I would also like to thank Mr. Crowley for his service to our students and CMHS staff. I look forward to continuing our work together and wish him the best as he embarks on his new role as the Assistant to the Superintendent for grades 7-12.

I am elated to remain in this incredible community and to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I’m even more excited to work together with all stakeholders to continue our tradition of excellence in education and to raise the bar even higher.

Please feel free to share your input with me and to let me know any questions or concerns that you may have throughout the school year.  We will continue to be CM Strong!

Brittany L. Taylor, M.S.,M.Ed.
