In Canon-McMillan School District, elementary students are encouraged to have good behavior with positive school-wide behavior plans.
At Borland Manor Elementary School, students are encouraged to "PAWS to Think!". The school-wide positive behavior plan reminds students to maintain their behavior in the building's common areas as well as in all of the classrooms. Students are rewarded for following the tenants of PAWS to Think!:
Practice Safety
Act Respectfully
Work Hard
Show Success
Throughout the year, students are rewarded for doing their part to make the school a positive place to be with quarterly parties. A SWPBIS program is in place at all of Canon-Mac's elementary buildings, and every building has their own theme. Borland Manor's second nine weeks celebration was a "Rolling Out the Red Carpet" theme. Students enjoyed a snack and a drink while watching a movie.
Congratulations to the students and staff involved in contributing to a positive school-wide atmosphere! Program success is dependent on everyone working together as a team and implementation of the program with fidelity.
