Last month Mrs. Barron and Mrs. McFarland's Science and Social Studies classes traveled to Mrs. Schepis's art room to create a collaged map of the USA. Students looked up state capitals and natural landmarks to draw onto states with crayons and then painted states using watercolor techniques they learned from Mrs. Schepis. Additionally, they looked up abbreviations and worked together to find letters in magazines to cut and paste on to each state. They finished by putting all the states back together like a puzzle to create a collaged map.

Corry, Q, and Natalie all said they felt happy when asked how they felt about going to the art room and Hannah loved it!

Gwen and Angelina agreed their favorite part was working together as a group to make the map.
Almost everyone mentioned they loved painting and everyone agreed the completed map looks really good!
