According to Canon-McMillan High School's Visual Art Teacher Mrs. Schepis, back in 2016 the hospital contacted her to paint windows in the Emergency Department (ED). The hospital also asked them to help make signs and contribute decorations for the Jack- O- Lantern Jog. Snce then Ms. Schepis has partnered with Canonsburg Hospital to help bring art to the hospital. They paint windows (in the ED and cafe), send cards for various holidays, make signs for events etc.
Mrs. Schepis said they had to take a break from painting in the hospital during COVID so they were excited to be able to start the community outreach back up this year. Recently Canon-McMillan art students stopped by to transition the window art from winter to spring. This is also a great way for the students to add to their community service hours fpr things like National Honor Society.
