(Pictured: Reading Specialist Mrs. Buhman Read to Muse Elementary First Graders as Part of "March Madness" Book Brackets.)
The third week of the "March Madness" Book Brackets brought reading specialist Mrs. Buhman to first graders as a special guest reader. She read the book The Very Impatient Caterpillar. Her book won and will be moving on to the next round. Learn more about this and view more photos from all of our guest speakers below!
First Graders at Muse Elementary are participating in a "March Madness" reading event to make reading fun. They created brackets similar to the basketball games but the competitors are books. Two books are read to the class and they determine which one the students like best. The winner moves through the brackets (Elite 8, Final Four, and Final) to determine a winner. Assistant to the Superintendent /Director of Curriculum and Instruction for K-6 Dr. Taranto and Principal Dziak read to first graders in the first week (pictured below.)
Muse Elementary also created a "Teachers read too- can you guess the reader" wall (pictured below). On this wall there are pictures of different teachers hiding behind different books and students must guess who the teacher is. Stay tuned for more photos from future guest readers and find out who will be announced as their 2023 Book of the Year!
