Canon-McMillan Varsity Baseball Won Games Against Norwin and Mt. Lebanon

Varsity Section Baseball Score: Norwin 7, Canon-McMillan 5

The Big Macs fell behind host Norwin 7-0 at the end of 4, then scored 5 over the final three innings, but their rally fell short in the 7th. The Big Macs got on the board in the 5th via an Andrew Kocan RBI groundout that scored Austyn Winkleblech.  The Big Macs scored three more runs in the 6th, and scored one in the 7th, but the bases loaded rally fell short.

The Big Macs (6-2, 4-1) travel to Norwin (3-6, 3-2) on Thursday at 4:00pm to complete the three game series.

Section Varsity Baseball Score: Canon-McMillan 16, Norwin 13

Canon-McMillan (6-1, 4-0) rallied from a 7-3 deficit in the bottom of the fourth to score 12 runs over the 4th and 5th innings to take a 15-7 lead. Norwin fought back to score the six runs in the final two innings, before the Big Macs added one in the bottom of the 6th.

Andrew Kocan had 4 RBIs and Mason Fixx had 3 RBIs for the Big Macs, while both chipped in with two hits. Calvin Daniels was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs as well. The Big Macs produced 13 hits and were aided by Nowrin with seven hit-by-pitches for the Big Macs.

Section Baseball Score Canon-McMillan 8, Mt. Lebanon 7 in 8 innings

Canon-McMillan (5-1, 3-0) rallied twice from a 5-1 deficit in the 5th inning and a 7-3 deficit in the bottom of the seventh to win 8-7 in extra innings vs. Mt. Lebanon (0-7, 0-3). The Big Macs scored four runs in the bottom of the 7th courtesy of a Mason Fixx RBI single, a Dom Obiecunas RBI single, and a wild pitch that scored both Nick Hilbert and Cam Russell.

The Big Macs called upon Russell again to deliver the game winning run with a bases loaded RBI single in the bottom of the 8th scoring Ben Peterson who led off the inning with a single. Russell was on base four times on the day with two walks and two singles. Sam Meredith, Peterson, and Fixx each had two more hits in the game. Nick Hilbert earned the win on the mound.

The Big Macs host Norwin on Monday April 10th for another section game at Wild Things Stadium on Big Macs Baseball Youth Day at 4:00pm.
