Both Canon-McMillan Track and Field Teams Won the Washington-Greene County Championships

Canon-McMillan athletes won many individual awards and broke a few meet records as they won the Washington-Greene County Coaches championships on Saturday at Big Mac Stadium.

The Boys piled up 180 points to win the team championship. Colton Dean won the overall meet MVP by winning the 300 hurdles, 200 meter dash, setting a meet record in the long jump of 22 feet 10 inches, and taking third in the high hurdles. The 4x100 relay team of Austyn Winkleblech, Isaiah Hicks, spencer Pierce, and Jake Egizio set a new meet record of 43.35 seconds.

  • Tyler Armstead won the triple jump and placed 2nd in the high hurdles.
  • Louis Liberatore won the javelin throw.
  • Jake Egizio won the 400, took 3rd in the 200, and ran on two winning relays.
  • Isaiah Hicks took 2nd in the 400, 3rd in the 100, and ran on two winning relays.
  • Spencer Pierce took 3rd in the 300 hurdles and ran on two winning relays.
  • Aidan McGee won third in the 3200 and 5th in the 1600.

Other athletes who won top eight individual awards or ran on winning relays were: Austyn Winkleblech, Nick Gasparovic, Ben Votodian,Evan Morris, Aaron Taylor, Dane Hanley, Jeremy Michrina, Caleb Trainum, Ian Fulton, Digby Bedner, John Strohecker, Jake Kazakewicz, Gio Pucillo, and Tyler Wood.


The Girls scored 200 team points to win the individual championship. Rose Kuchera won the field MVP by winning the triple jump and long jump with meet and school records of 40 feet 9inches in the triple and 19 feet 6.25 inches in the long jump. Rose also won the high hurdles and ran on the winning 4x100 relay team.

  • Bennett Pidro won the 100 and 200, placed 2nd in the long jump and ran on the winning relay.
  • Elisabeth Franczyk won the 300 hurdles, placed 2nd in the triple jump, and ran on two winning relays.
  • Maggie Clair won the shot put.
  • Olivia Joos placed 2nd in the discus and 3rd in the shot put.
  • Izzy Hagerman took 3rd in the pole vault and 7th in the high jump.
  • Addy Yaeger finished 3rd in the 1600 and ran on two winning relays.
  • Allie West took 3rd in the 400 and ran on two winning relays.
  • Bryce Dean was 2nd in the high hurdles, 4th in the long jump, and ran on two winning relays.

Other athletes who won top 8 awards or ran on winning relays were:
Samayah Titus-Chandler, Erin DeLong, Morgan Wood, Reagan Thomas. Abby Mitrik, Allison Angott, Lilly Harris, Jade Viscardi, Abby Hancock, Adaire Settles, Jenna Gasper, Anna Jaworski, Corinne Amos, Ava Urso, and Anna Mack.
