The Bethel Fife and Drum Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution honored area high school seniors with its Good Citizen Award.
Receiving certificates and honorariums in person were Bode Dagen from Canon-McMillan and Andrew Harwood from Mt. Lebanon High School.
Other award recipients not in attendance at the April meeting were Mary Dougherty from Carlynton, Rachael Muehlbauer from Peters Township and Ava Weidensall of Baldwin.
The award recognizes and rewards seniors who exemplify the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their schools and communities. The students were selected by their teachers and peers. Once a student is chosen from their school, the Good Citizen candidate is invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program. This consists of a personal statement and essay. Scholarships are awarded at the state, division and national levels.
