Dear Canon-McMillan School District Parents/Guardians and Staff,
We recently received word of additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Canon-McMillan School District. A staff member and two students from Wylandville Elementary have tested positive. For this reason, we felt it important to quickly - and temporarily - close Wylandville Elementary for in-person instruction for the remainder of the week.
Per our established protocol, we have been in contact with the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PADOH). Contact tracing is ongoing and individuals identified as contacts will be notified and directed to quarantine in accordance with DOH guidelines.
Wylandville Elementary (only) will temporarily close. Wylandville will move to a fully remote model with live lessons for Thursday, January 28 and Friday, January 29, 2021. The building will reopen to students and staff for in-person instruction on Monday, February 1, 2021. Please see your child’s Google Classroom for specific class times and schedules. This closure applies to all sports and extracurricular activities occurring at Wylandville immediately.
As with all learning models, information and links to coursework for all students is available on the CM Portal.
Please know we are taking the above action to protect the health and safety of our students, staff and families. We will continue to closely monitor state and local data.
Please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Health website (www.health.pa.gov) for the latest and most accurate information about COVID-19 and don’t forget to check the COVID-19 Daily Screener, found on our website (cmsd.k12.pa.us) in the Coronavirus Update Center daily. As always, we appreciate your support. We believe strongly that we will get through this together,
Canon-McMillan School District
