Did you know April is Child Abuse Awareness month? According to the child advocacy website:

"Though we cannot come together, we still hope that these pinwheels will serve as a visual reminder of the child abuse that continues to occur in our own community. We encourage you to plant a pinwheel in front of your home or business as a way of honoring those who have helped you or your children experience a childhood without abuse and neglect."

There are two gardens at the high school, one is situated under the marquee in front of the school where buses pull in and the other is near guidance where parent/guardian drop off is.  School Counselor Mrs. Humbertson hopes the pinwheel gardens and wearing the shirts will be visual reminders for the cause,

"We also purchased shirts to wear as visual reminders to hopefully raise awareness among staff, students, etc.  Just a small gesture, but we hope it made a difference somehow!"
