Did you know May is National Health Awareness Month? Canon-McMillan Senior High School's SADD Club (Students Against Destructive Decisions) plans to honor National Health Awareness Month with the following activities at the start of May:
- Mon.-Fri., 5/3-5/7: Morning announcements written by CMHS SADD officers containing facts and statistics about Mental Health will be broadcast over CMTV. Fliers are hanging in the hallways to promote this month's initiative.
- Mon.-Tues., 5/3-5/4: SADD members will be handing out business cards with Mental Health resources and a green ribbon for students to wear throughout the month of May.
- Fri., 5/7: The entire school is encouraged to wear GREEN on this day to bring awareness to the importance of good mental health. ALSO: Several LUCKY students who participate by wearing green this Friday will be randomly selected during lunch periods and will receive a coupon for one free Kona Ice next week during our fundraiser!
- Week of 5/10: The Kona Ice Truck is coming on 5/11 and 5/13 during all lunch periods for a fundraiser that will benefit the mental health organization MINDING YOUR MIND and help to pay for a speaker for next school year from that same organization.
