Dear Canon-McMillan School District Parents/Guardians and Staff,

During the past week there have been eight positive COVID-19 cases in the Canon-McMillan School District:

  • one staff member and one student from Muse Elementary tested positive,

  • one student from Canonsburg Middle School tested positive,

  • two students from Cecil Intermediate School tested positive,

  • one student from Canon-McMillan Senior High School has tested positive

  • two students from Borland Manor Elementary have tested positive,

Contact tracing was conducted for all positive cases and individuals identified as close contacts were notified. We are taking all recommended steps to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.

As a reminder, if your child is experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19 do not send them to school.   If someone in the home is suspected of having COVID-19, been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days, or has tested positive for COVID-19 contact the school nurse before sending your child to school.  For your convenience and information, the Canon-McMillan School District Screening Tool can be accessed on our website, cmsd.k12.pa.us in the Coronavirus Update Center.  It provides detail on signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

Please visit the PA Department of Health website (www.health.pa.gov) for the latest and most accurate information about COVID-19.  The health and safety of our students and staff is paramount, and we continue to follow all aspects of the District’s health and safety plan at all times.

Also please note that Remote Lunch Pick-Up is now postponed for the remainder of the school year.  We will resume lunch pick up on June 8th, 2021 from 11-12 at the Middle School Bus Loop.  Additional information about Summer Lunch Pick-Up will be communicated at a later date.

Thank you,

Canon-McMillan School District
