The nation is currently experiencing a severe shortage of certified K-12 teachers. This shortage has affected our District, but hopefully you can help!

If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher, but don’t have a PA teaching certificate, you can become an Emergency Substitute Teacher. The only educational requirement is a bachelor’s degree - in any major - from an accredited, higher-education institution.

As an Emergency Substitute Teacher, you can:

  • Earn $100/day

  • Participate in the Public School Retirement System

  • Engage in a once in a lifetime opportunity to teach children

The district will be offering a virtual training course on Monday, July 26, 2021. Everyone who completes the district training course and the required clearances will be able to substitute teach throughout the district for the 2021-2022 school year.

Please see the flyer for more details, and email Rachel Beppler if you have any questions:  bepplerr@cmsd.k12.pa.us.
