Canon-McMillan's Elementary Schools Celebrated the 100th and 101st Days of School earlier this week. All of them had different activities planned for students around the 100th and 101st themes.

At South Central Elementary, for example, Kindergarten brought in 100 of something.  One student made a wig for their pet turtle "Steve" (puppet).  It has 100 strands of hair. First Grade dressed up like they were 100 years old and did activities with a focus on 100. Some of those included math facts, word searches, what they would like to have 100 or, what they could eat 100 of.

Muse Elementary kindergarten did 100 dance moves with “100 year old grandpa” Jack Hartman.

First graders at Hills Hendersonville Elementary celebrated the 101st day of school by dressing as dalmatians, wearing black, white, or spots.  They completed several STEAM activities throughout the day; which included creating their own dalmatian out of marshmallows and toothpicks, creating a puppy playground out of various materials, building a hide out for some puppies to keep them safe from Cruella, stacking 101 cups to get the dalmatian to its highest point, and making a dalmatian and headband to celebrate and remember their exciting day at school.  Second graders at Hills Hendersonville Elementary celebrated the 100th Day of School by dressing up as if they were 100 years old. They completed reading, writing, and math station activities all centered around the 100th day.

Borland Manor Elementary's 100th Day Celebration was originally scheduled for Thursday February 3rd, but since that was a remote instruction day it has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 8th. Stay tuned for some photos from that as well!

Congratulations to all of our schools on the 100th and 101st days of school, all students are 100 days smarter!
