South Central had a "School Spirit Week" focusing on KINDNESS. The PTA supported the fun by providing small gifts to each student.  Throughout the week they collected non-perishables for the Canonsburg Food Pantry with a friendly competition between the classrooms. The top two rooms received a certificate to fill a box at Grandpa Joe's Candy Store!  In total, they delivered 3,061 items!

Their themes for the week included:

  • Monday was "be kind to others" - Students wore red and distributed Valentines. The PTA provided a snack.
  • Tuesday was "be kind to yourself" - Students wore PJs and received a special South Central pencil.
  • Wednesday was "be kind to the earth" - Students wore blue and green and received a packet of flower seeds to plant in the spring.
  • Thursday was "National Random Act of Kindness Day" - Students wore a shirt with kind words
  • Friday  was "be kind to your school" - Students wore blue and gold and received a CM beanie.

Congratulations to South Central Elementary on this fantastic act of community service and kindness!
