Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are excited to inform you that Canon-McMillan High School is transitioning to a 1:1 Electronic Device Program this year! Each student in grades 9-12 will be assigned a chromebook. With this initiative, we hope to advance the education of students and engage them in additional critical thinking, collaboration and communication activities. Our goal is to build upon the solid education program that CMHS is known for.

The device and charger will be used in the classroom and home for educational purposes. Teachers will vary in their expectations for chromebook use, but your child will be using this tool for instruction, assignments, projects, research and assessment throughout the day.

Please click here the Electronic Device Handbook, which includes the 1:1 Chromebook Loan Agreement and the district-provided Technology Protection Plan. This form must be completed prior to device pick-up. Please complete this form and return it to the high school on the date and time designated for your grade level. Should you wish to purchase the district-provided Technology Protection Plan, please bring a $20 money order made payable to Canon-McMillan School District. No cash or checks will be accepted. The deadline to enroll in the district-provided Technology Protection Plan is Friday, September 2; if it is not purchased at the time of pick-up, the form and money order should be turned in to Ms. Dorrance in the high school office prior to the deadline.

The dates and times for pick-up are listed below, which will run from 8-11AM each day. Devices will be distributed from the high school library. Please enter the school through the main entrance. The Chromebook Loan Agreement and Technology Protection Plan must be signed and returned in order for your student to be issued a device. Parents do not need to be present for device pick-up if the form is signed. After distribution, we will determine the need for an additional date for pick-up.

Date Grade Level

  • Tuesday, August 9 9
  • Wednesday, August 10 12
  • Thursday, August 11 11
  • Friday, August 12 10

We look forward to working with you as we embark on this wonderful new opportunity!
