Every year, Canonsburg Hospital does many donation drives (to places like the humane society, food pantry, etc.).  For the fall, they organized a collection of school supplies and they selected a local community school that would receive them.  Wylandville Elementary was the choice for this year.  Canonsburg Hospital's Engagement Council lead the endeavor and encouraged everyone within the hospital to participate.

"Of the many items donated, we received pens, pencils, notebooks, book bags, markers, glue, art sets, hand  sanitizer, tape, staplers, etc. It was great being at the school to drop off the school supplies and meet everyone."

says Mr. Keith Zimmer, Director of Volunteer Services at Canonsburg and Jefferson Hospitals.

Wylandville Elementary's Principal, Mrs. Shannon Balch, appreciates this partnership with Canonsburg Hospital,

"We appreciate the partnership that we have with Canonsburg Hospital and Allegheny Health Network.  Our School Nurse, Mrs. Loutsion, and five other nurses from this organization work within the Canon-McMillan School District providing quality care to our students daily.  They have been instrumental in keeping our students and staff healthy and safe throughout the pandemic.  The Engagement Council and their work creates bonds within the community that are far reaching and positively impact people's lives.  The Wylandville School Community appreciates being the recipient of this year's school supply drive."
