According to their website,
"Paint the Plow is a community outreach program in which students are invited to paint a PennDOT snow plow blade with original artwork to represent their individual school. In addition to being visible when in full service during the winter-weather months, the blades will be used within the school’s community to enhance public awareness, promote safety and foster greater appreciation of both PennDOT and the school’s art program."
Last year Canon-McMillan won the PennDOT choice and fan favorite of Washington County. This year Mrs.. Ashley Schepis's Concept and Creative Thinking class created the design. The final product was a combination of four student designs. According to Mrs. Schepis, all of her students had a hand in preparing the snow plow by either priming or sketching the design but there were four main students who took the lead painting the plow and they are: Erin Slayton, Kanna Guigue, Devin Iraklidis, and Elizabeth Silassy. It took them about 3 weeks to prime, sketch, and paint the plow.
Congratulations to all of these students on a fantastic job!
