Both Canon-Mac Hockey Teams Won Their Games Last Night

The game started fast as the Big Macs scored three early goals in the first period; Dakota Albarano, Corey Passieu and Josh Hrip each capitalized on their chances and put Canon Mac up 3-0 after the first. After surrendering two goals of our own Josh Hrip scored his second of the game short handed to extend the lead to two goals.

After a back and forth third period that saw seniors Daniel Garver, Captain Logan Ford, and Josh Hrip all score the Big Macs came out with a 7-6 victory.

Noah Ciotti make some big saves in the final minute to preserve the victory; while Josh Hrip continues his fantastic season with a league leading second hat trick of the season.

Middle School:

The Middle School team faced off against Chartiers Valley. The Big Macs were in control for the majority of the game, outshooting their opponents 28-5 throughout the game. Alex Galardini opened the scoring to give Canon Mac a 1-0 lead after one period. In the second period, Ben Votodian and Trey Dopson each scored goals to extend the lead to 3-0 entering the final period of play. Ben Votodian was not done as he tallied his second goal of the game early in the third period. Chartiers Valley was finally able to get a goal of their own later in the frame, but it was too little too late as the Bigs Macs won 4-1. Aiden Bobbs picked up the win, allowing only one goal on the night. Jason Lombardi (2) and David Szalay also picked up assists. Ben Votodian added three points to bring his league-leading total to 18 (14 G, 4 A).
