In grades 5-6, students continue to develop a strong foundation in mathematics through enVision+ Mathematics, a comprehensive program designed to prepare students for the increasingly complex mathematics they will encounter in middle school and beyond.
enVision+ emphasizes conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving. Through explicit teacher-led instruction, visual models, hands-on learning with manipulatives, meaningful discussions, and purposeful practice, students learn not only how to solve problems but also “why” mathematical strategies work.
Teachers use an “I Do, We Do, You Do” approach to model concepts and provide guided practice before students apply their newly learned skills independently.
Throughout grades 5-6, students build proficiency with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratios, expressions and equations, geometry, measurement, statistics, and problem-solving. Continued attention to computational fluency helps students solve problems accurately and efficiently while developing the mathematical reasoning needed for more challenging coursework.
