Barron Webster, who works for Google as a Designer, visted students on Team Independence on January 22. Two students (Louis and Dom) in Mrs. Gonze's class completed their science fair project on the topic of Teachable Machines. With Barron's work with projects related to their topic, he came from his New York Google office to share what he does as a designer.
Students were fascinated to learn about how Google operations work. For example, he explained that in his office their are over 8,000 people. As a designer, he works with writers, filmmakers, illustrators, and technologists. All of these departments work together to create products for Google.
Barron shared that his interest in art led him to the design field. He always enjoyed drawing and creating things since elementary school.
Barron shared that "teamwork" is what makes him stay at Google. He works with 20 people on a team that help each other out.
