This is the district’s plan to provide instruction on days when in person learning is canceled due to weather. The school district applied and was approved by the state to use alternate approaches to deliver instruction if circumstances arise that prevent students from attending in person.
The alternate approaches in our application included instruction to be provided remotely (asynchronous or synchronous) and by printed packets (sent home prior or picked up). This was done in the anticipation schooling would eventually return to a traditional model of programming before the end of the 22-23 school year when our approved application expires.
In an effort to keep things consistent with something we already have in place, the current plan is to operate just as we do on "Remote Wednesdays" if poor weather prohibits us from having in person instruction.
If we cancel school due to snow or ice on a day of in person instruction, students and staff would be notified and asynchronous lessons (just as we do on Wednesdays) will be posted on Schoology for grades 5-12 and in Google Classroom for grades K-4. School staff will be available to work with students, answer questions, and provide assistance via their designated learning platforms.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through this pandemic.
